I gave my Brother-In-Law my Powr-Kraft (Sprunger) 14" band saw, and in trade, he gave my the Sprunger BS10 that belonged to his Grandfather, who nabbed it from the school he worked in. This saw sat in his garage, unusable, for 10 years, so I figured I can go ahead and restore it for fun. Anyhow, this saw had three layers of paint. The original light gray, thick green paint (typical school green), and then a dark gray sprayed over EVERYTHING. I guess it kept it from rusting. Hours upon hours in front of the wire wheel, and an entire can of paint stripper to get it all down to bare metal. This saw actually didn't have much use, so the bronze sleeve bearings were good, but the tires were shot, as were the blade guides and thrust bearings. That all needed to be replaced. I am so tired of everything being different shades of machinery gray, so I opted for Ace Hardware sage green. My BIL can't find the knobs for the covers, so I picked up some at Ace, until, and if, he can find the originals. Anyhow, I like it on this saw. Don't know what I'll do with the saw, now that it is restored as I don't need a small saw like this but it came out pretty good. This was certainly a labor of love, and I probably spent more on this saw than I would ever sell it for, but it was a lot of fun to restore.
