I picked up this machine from the original owner's son. The machine wasn't on a stand, and the motor was screaming when I originally tried it. I was impressed how light the machine is as it uses cast aluminum with steel doors and a cast iron table. The wheels are also aluminum. I cleaned the machine up as I really liked the original hammered blue paint. The paint was in relatively decent condition. I cleaned the years of grime off of the blade guides, and cleaned the rust from the table. I de-rusted all of the bolts, and just simply reassembled the cleaned machine. I found that the original 1/2 HP motor was just really dry, as in no oil going through the sleeve bearings, so penetrating oil for a while and some fresh machinery oil, and the motor sounded good. I mounted everything on a Craftsman machinery stand, and it is cutting nicely.
