Well, after a few years of trying to coordinate its transport, I've lugged home a free Unisaw.
This one is pretty rough, but the price was right. My dad had picked it up from a local woodshop which was part of a larger business near where I grew up. (Southeast Kansas, Coffeyville/Independence/Cherryvale)

My plan is to tear it down to bones and see if I can save it. I haven't even tried to fire it up yet, but I suspect the motor is fine.
If it turns out ok, I'll plan to use it as a dedicated saw for dados.
The saw has sat in my dad's dilapidated dirt-floor garage for several years.

For me, the saddest parts are the busted cast iron wings. I strongly suspect it has been dropped from a forklift multiple times.

The base has been wicking moisture from the dirt for years, so it's pretty rough, but I think there may be enough meat to sandblast and weld on some patches before bondo to fill any pitting.
