I placed this under metal as it seems that Murchey was mostly into the metal side of things, vs wood working. I found this stand supporting a model B-2 belt sander made by Syracuse Sander/Grinder - Porter Cable of Syracuse, NY. The previous owner is deceased so I have no way of finding out what he knew this Murchey stand originally supported. The photo of the stand's deck is the best I can do, the sander obscures the rest of the deck. I have added two recent photographs of the stand, w/out the sander. Note the metal bump outs on the table portion. I/we may never know if there was something attached to these or not, if they were taller or configured differently and for what purpose? In comparison to other machinery stands, this Murchey stand's footprint seems relatively small to support a machine. It does well for the sander though.
