This came home about 6 weeks ago. My buddy, who is much more galootish than I, suggested we go in search of planes, braces and chisels at an auction in St Joseph IL. That's a 2.5 hour drive and there was 3-5 inches of fresh slushy snow but I picked him up early, we drank lots of coffee and went. There was an enormous and wide selection of clean and sometimes rare handtools. Perhaps luckily, the handtool crowd wasn't very interested in the 'lectrical powered machines. Fortuitously, neither this saw nor a Powermatic 50 were on the sale bill- I won both at good prices. This one went for well less than a C note.
I am not sure if this is properly a "1200" model because it was made in 1948 and I was using the 1940 Delta catalog as reference. It is also on (I presume) a 716 steel stand. If anybody wishes to correct or amplify, pls email me. Power is a 1/4 hp Reynolds motor. There is a cracked off arm of the casting where the belt cover hinge is and a damaged drive pulley. Otherwise, it's much better'n fair. We got back to our home town at 10pm, tired, and with the possum-van pretty full. It was a great day!
