Comments:
I picked up this grinder on impulse after picking up a Tomlee drill press. The seller wanted $10 for it, and despite the missing wheel guard, I picked it up since it ran quietly. I was unable to find another 8" wheel guard, but a couple of gents on the owwm forum reached out to me, and one provided me the guards off of his recently departed 6". This grinder is going to be sitting in the garage, so I took him up on that offer. Because of the smaller guards, I had to make 1/2" spacers and add 1/2" spacers for the wheels in order to get things to fit, but it's good enough for the garage. I didn't do a full on restoration, just a quick and dirty. I cleaned up the paint, slapped on a new coat, and there you have it. Not perfect, not pretty, but works well, and will spend the rest of its life sharpening blades for my lawn care equipment. All in all, it's a nice machine though. I wouldn't mind the other wheel guard for the 8", but it's not necessary for the job it is set out to do.
