These photos were provided to us by Norm Lott. The maker, F. W. Reynolds & Co. of London, made a few different models of hand-cranked bandsaws, primarily of 3-wheel construction. The "Comet" model was introduced in about 1881 and we only find mentions of it for a few years, until '84 or '85.
The primary difference between the "Comet" and the earlier "Imperial" model (as seen on page 8 of their 1879 catalog) is the blade tensioning mechanism on the mount for the upper wheel.
