Comments:
I purchased the band saw in 2018 from a local sign shop for $100. The PO asked for $50, but I figured at $100 we both got a bargain… They had been using it primarily to cut thin sheet plastic for signs. According to the PO, the machine had not been running for about a year because the motor had burned out. So they bought a cheap HF band saw to take its place. This seems surreal, but who am I to argue? The PO said his father had likely purchased it many years ago since it had been in the shop as far back as he could remember, but the PO knew nothing else concerning the machine’s history. When I got it home its main problems were the motor - which had burned out because the drive shaft babbitt bearings had failed. They had been greased rather than lubed with oil. Tho the main table and the smaller side table are missing in the first pic, I have them. They’re ready to go after I get the wheels in plane and balance them.
