Comments:
It was originally purchased by Godby Pattern in Harrison, NJ. When Godby closed it's doors in the early 80's the Harrison school system purchased this lathe. When the school closed it's wood shop I purchased this lathe along with a Blount direct drive and some other equipment. This lathe is in regular use in my shop less than 1/4 mile from where is spent it's first 50 years. I attended high school before this was added to the woodshop, I only got to use the standard issue Delta's. My shop teacher referred to Oliver as the "Cadillac of Lathes" at a time when Cadillac was king.
As you can see in the pics it's got the compound toolrest. It also has a Square D motor starter which I'd like to remove someday and rewire the original internal switch.
