I acquired the machine from a C/L add for $30. As an oddity it was worth that for bragging rights. There are very few of these on either VMO or OWWM. The owner was in Jetmore, Ks and said he got if from an older gentleman who happened to be a local machinist who “made it” when going thru technical school. This fits with how Casting Specialties advertised their wares according to the only pertinent publication here on the Mother Ship. It appears to be in great shape, tho I’ve not yet checked runout or such. The bearings sound fine. It came without a motor. Jetmore, Ks being some 3.5(ish) hours away, the owner volunteered to deliver it to my house since he comes to Kansas State University located in Manhattan (my home town) on a regular basis. The pic is of the DP on my front porch post delivery. He forgot to bring the other stepped pulley and will cart it along on his next trip to town. It’s really an interesting little thing.

Not sure about the color. There is some mottled blue showing thru so I suspect at least two coats. I’ll likely change it to grey.

There are no casting numbers on either side of the head. I looked quite closely.

The pulley cover casting is actually quite underwhelming. The large depression has a pinhole in the middle. I’ll fill it when I go over the DP before repaint. The table is in excellent condition with only a couple of small pock marks.
