These photos show the Fay Automatic Lathe, manufactured by The Jones & Lamson Machine Co in Springfield, VT, turning a 14" shell at the Bethlehem Steel Co. Nov 1, 1932. Photos are from the J & L archives located at the Springfield Art & Historical Society, Springfield, VT. The 14" projectile shown is of the type that would have been used on battleships such as the USS Arizona.
