I found this Drill Press on Craigslist. The seller bought it at auction from Lawrence Livermore Labs machine shop. It had fallen off a cart and had bent sheetmetal and handles. I cleaned it up and fixed everything the best I could while trying to keep the old appearance. A sheetmetal shop did the belt cover and made it very straight. It was 3 phase, so I put a VFD control on it. I also borrowed an old drum switch from my 1930's J.D. Wallace & Co. shaper. Now the drill press has reverse, too. A friend welded the stand together, then I finished it with paint, an oak top, and a cabinet. I am very happy with the operation and the looks of it, too.
