This post is a conversion experiment using an early 1950s 103.22160 saw and late 1950s 103.22171 cabinet+motor mount.
Both saws have basically the same stamped and fabricated steel base cabinet.
The 2216 saw has a separate sliding motor mount assembly.
The 2217 has a U-shaped stamped steel motor mount pivot bolted to the rear cabinet skirt, with a sliding motor mount on steel rod.
The 2216 saw was turned upside down and the tilt pointer, mono-control knob, and motor mount sliding actuator removed.
A 2217 cabinet was bolted to the table bottom (the 2216 front panel fits the 2217 cabinet but was left off for convenience).
The saw rig was attached to a 16x30 Universal stand with a Craftsman/Packard 115.19920 3/4 hp 3450 rpm motor, 2.5" pulley, and 34" V-belt.
A motor mount actuator, attached to the carriage, was fabricated from a 1/4-20 round head bolt, coupler, and three nuts.
Trial runs and test cuts were made successfully.

Conversion to 2217 cabinet complete, front face panel does fit but transfer wasn't necessary.
