Since acquiring this machine I have done some research and here is some history of this machine.
It was used in the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fa Railroad shops in Topeka, Kansas. I found a retired ATSF carman who remembers the saw. He said there was just 1 guy who ran it. If he wanted to take a break he would slug the saw and throw the breaker. It took an electrician about an hour to get there and fix.
In 1985 a farmer 40 miles north of Topeka bought the saw at auction. He wanted the 20HP electric motor for a grain dryer. He left the saw set out until I got it in 2006.
As you can see it was almost solid rust.
According to OWWM this machine weighs about 3350 lbs with the self feeder which it is missing.
This is one of my favorite machines.
