I purchased this Yates-American J 170 lathe at a farm sale. It appeared to have been abused and left setting for an extended period of time. I was worried about the variable speed drive components being stuck since the lathe appeared to have been in a moist environment. The drive components were fine but the spur center in the headstock was stuck fast. I thought it would never come out.
