Offered for sale on eBay in April 2003.
Lathe has a cast iron frame, cast iron ways and a really neat headstock/motor assembly that is in a single unit. The headstock can be locked in spindle turning mode - with 36" between centers and a 7-1/2" swing - or easily unlocked and pivoted 90 degrees and locked in faceplate turning mode.
The original motor on this example is a solid and quiet 1/3 hp GE 110v single phase model, controlled by an on/off switch set inside a guard to avoid accidental startups. There is a 4 blade headstock drive spur and a cup center in the tailstock spindle. The spur center is removable to allow either of the 6" faceplates to be attached. Spindle speeds are adjustable from 550 to 2400 rpm by sliding the motor assembly along a ground and polished steel track to align the proper pulleys.
