This was from my grandfathers 1949 Sears Craftsman belt sander. At this date (1/30/2022) I am 63 yrs old and I remember my father using and giving this to me when I was 15yrs old. I recently took the sander apart and "tuned" it up. At initial start up, the motor runs a low RPM and will slow down to almost stop when pressure is put on the sander. After about 1min the motor will speed up and have much more "normal" torque. I'm puzzled about this motor of why it does what it does, what year it is and how to rewire for a switch.
