Comments:
Bought from VT furniture works in Morrisville, although it was not clear if they had actually used it. The 10" blade fits, barely, however a 9 or 8" blade provides more comfortable guard clearance. Thick walled hollow tubes- 1.5" o.d. 72" long support the saw carriage which has oil cups for lubricating the slide action. Motor is not original, but is a 1hp 3450 RPM single phase Dayton. The saw carriage has built in motor mount tilting for belt tensioning. There is a counter weight (~50lbs estimated) to return the carriage using a cable/pulley system. The upper end casting tilts and has angle increments. Also raises and lowers the rails. The lower end (probably mirrored) the upper originally was replaced with angle iron and steel plate fabricated with lead screw to raise and lower the rails. Each end (upper/lower) needs to raise and tilt independantly. Lots of oil and elbow grease went into this, and more is to come, but its worth it. Runs and glides smooth on its rails. Plate on carriage reads MITERMASTER Model A
RW Hendrick Co. Marblehead Mass.
