The previous owner found it in their shed when they bought their property, so unfortunately they didn't know any history behind it. It is a small, but heavy grinder with a cast iron base, greased bushings, and a belt drive. Someone has added slotted rails to the motor mount on the back of the machine.
Unfortunately there are two locations where I can see tags or data plates previously existed. I found one other such grinder out in the wild and it was missing all tagging, so I still have no idea what model this is. I find the design to be unusual and I'm wondering if it was a very early offering of a small grinder by Ford Smith? I'm not sure what the original colour was but in some areas I can see black paint underneath.
It's in operating condition and I am using it presently.
