Purchased running off eBay. I plan to restore it this winter. the whole motor appears to be gloss black. unknown if the clamshell ends were repainted until I begin restoration. but the band does look like it was originally gloss black.
stamped in the bottom field is 84 48. or maybe B4 48, could it be a date code?
