Comments:
Purchased this machine from a liquidator clearing out excess machinery from a paper mill. They were using it up until somewhat recently and stored it inside since. It has a slightly different work rest arrangement than other 901's I have seen, mounted off of the wheel guard instead of off the frame of the machine. The tag of the machine is scratched from someone removing paint off it, but I am fairly certain it says 901.
It has a belt drive arbour like many of the Ford Smith models which makes it highly desirable to me, allowing me to choose the motor, voltage, power, and wheel speed. It is complete with illuminated eye shields and water pot which is an excellent bonus.
I love comparing the features in the design to the baby model 260 I have (check out last picture). There's a lot of design similarities.
If you have any Ford-Smith literature, please contact me.
