I purchased this Drill Press on BOYD and picked it up at Arn Fest 2021. I expected this to be a much smaller drill press, but it's really rather large, and too big for my needs. I did restore it, however, and it restored nicely. At first, I thought the bearings were bad as it sounded like it was grinding, but it turned out to be the belt riding on the head. After adjusting the motor pulley it operated nicely, so I went forward with the restore. I stripped the grungy charcoal paint from it, revealing green house paint (I think), then the Craftsman bluish/gray. Since that was such a hard color to match, I went with Ace Brite Blue paint, and Testors on the badges. The drill press operates smoothly and looks pretty nice, to my eyes. Some of the rust was deep, but I mostly got it cleaned up, with some minor pitting and staining. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with it.
