This saw was purchased at an estate sale in Waterbury, CT wich is were it was made, I think. I had to disassemble it as much as possible to get it out of the cellar because of the wieght, it is heavy! I scrapped the puny 1/2 HP motor (not original) and installed a new Baldor 3HP single phase unit, it has a dual belt drive system. I also had the parts to assemble a magnetic starter, wich I installed. I disassembled, cleaned & painted the entire saw and assessories. What a workhorse! Glad I didn't skimp on the HP, 12" blade remember? The only draw back is the 3/4" arbor, but you can use a shim or order the bore opened up when you order new blades or get your blades sharpened. Great SAW.
