This small band saw is listed for sale in the on-line classifieds near Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It isn't mine, but caught my eye as an interesting, and rather obscure machine, so thought I'd post the pictures. The frame is marked Stellar Co, Hamilton, Ont, but a search of the City of Hamilton Vernon Directories showed Stellar first showing up in the 1960 edition with the text "Stellar Pattern Works (Eli Dion), 167 Simcoe St. E." which led to the proper listing of Dion Pattern and Machine Works. A 10" jointer manufactured by Stellar is also on this website in the Classifieds - Sold section. The owner of Stellar, Eli Dion (from a limited search) in 1952 time period worked for "STANDARD PATTERN WORKS OF HAMILTON (E H Scrimger) , All Kinds of Patterns and Models, cor Emerald north and Burton, • Phone 7-1228", so not sure if this was related to his company or if only later he branched out on his own to start the Stellar Co. operation.

I thought the angle iron stand looked home made, but it is factory original since it matches other pictures listed under Stellar.

Here's the jointer as discussed above. Same angle iron style base as they made for band saw.
