I purchased this from a gentleman who has been a machinist for many years. It was sitting in the corner of his shop and hadn't been used in a long time. It was hooked up to a V belt transmission and electric motor. Some day I'll have it hooked to a lineshaft once again and restored, but until then it is very useable in its current configuration. The badge shows it was made by McGreggor Gourlay Co and sold by the popular Canadian dealer A R Williams. The shaper includes a back gear operated by a cast lever on the rear, and an interesting ratchet which can feed the head of the ram up or down. I was impressed with the number of adjustments that this machine offered.
