This machine reportedly came out of cabinet shop in Charleston, Mass., where a worker spent 20 years on the machine. I acquired from it from a fellow in Lawrence, Mass. where it was largely unused for 30 years. It has a round, two knife, clamshell cutter head. The belts were misaligned from the motor pulley to the arbor, so the pulley side bearing ran hot. I corrected the misalignment and the babbit bearings were declared good by a highly respected machinist who recommended the oiler which I installed. Runs off a 3 hp, 3 phase motor, with pony motor converter to single phase 220 volts. I dialed in the tables to the same planes and knifes to within .001". The machine works flawlessly. Pretty amazing for over 100 years old!
