By Ser # this Jointer was made in 1959. The Pittsburgh tag is 4 x 1. The black fence handle appears to be correct but I've not found any other pics with this handle. The rear table adjustment knob was made by someone, probably a previous owner who I assume was an hobby machinist as although he made a nice job the knurl is only partially formed. The front handle is correct as the drawings and other machines I've seen appear. The parts drawing I have shows a "special washer between the cutter head bearing and the bearing housing but none are present and there is no indication they ever were. The fence handle is a curious assembly. The parts diagram shows a spring between the knurled bushing and the thick washer (it was missing so I made a replacement) that applies tension to the table but the splined lever is fixed to the bushing with a half round screw according to the drawing. I will modify this to accept a spring that will allow the lever to be pulled back and repositioned on the spline as I would think was intended? If anyone has information regarding this I'd be interested to know the correct sequence of assembly. The finish on this machine is speckeled as shown and the riser block was installed when I bought it. The Cutter head guard and return spring are present although not shown. I will add a final picture once I have the stand made. It was Bought off Kijiji (like Craigs list)
