Comments:
This drill press is the last remaining machine in a workshop on a coal mine site in Australia which closed in 1964. Around the site are other machines including a steam winding engine and about six other steam engines, two with alternators and exciters. None of the machinery is in operating condition. The coal mine site is now under the care and control of the local Historical Society of which I am a member.
