Bought this bandsaw from a second owner who was a "car guy" who principally worked with metal. He posted it on the Facebook marketplace because he didn't really use it and needed the shop space. It appears to all be original with the exception of a replacement motor and neoprene tires. The blade guides & guide bearings are very worn and give me some repeatability problems -- even after cleaning, repacking, and adjusting all of the guide bearings. I have ordered new guide assemblies from Carter Products and will upgrade to them when they arrive (September 2021). ***Note: Carter Products does not list a Model 140 in their catalog. Instead, they sent an upgrade kit for a model(s) 141 & 143. It does not even come close to fitting. The square, vertical, height adjustment shaft on the model 140 is 3/4". The kit that Carter sent had a 1" square shaft and the Carter bottom guide assembly is a LOT bigger. Had to send it all back. I am now ordering replacement bearings for the original style.

Future plans are to repaint and make it shine.

I did make a minor modification to the backside of the table. On both sides of the miter slot, I drilled and tapped holes to mount a small piece of flat stock to block the end of the miter slot. I did this to provide a positive stop for a 16-inch circle jig that I made for a class I was teaching. This stop worked well and is easily removed.

The only other modification that I will make is the addition of a large, paddle stop switch instead of the small, on/off toggle switch.
