This was my grandfather's machine during the 80's. He was not a woodworker, but was a gardener, so he used it to sharpen his yard tools. After he passed, I snagged it. It works fine, though missing the hone stone. I used it for years to sharpen my lathe tools, until I purchased a much better slo-mo fine grit grinder for this purpose. This was manufactured by Wen tools, and I am really surprised to see that it was made in the U.S.A.

Wet stone and guide. There is a hard felt pad under the stone. You fill the cavity with water or honing solution, and the pad keeps the stone wet.
