This was a bench grinder my grandfather used in his basement. It has an oil filled capacitor made by Aerovox. According to Aerovox's website that company was founded in 1922. That is the only clue I have to the date it was manufactured. And that my grandfather was born in 1910. I got it when he passed away in 1993 and have been using it regularly. I replaced the bad wires yesterday and am honestly surprised it never started a fire or popped a circuit breaker. I kept the wiring as original as possible while making it safe to use.
