Comments:
I bought this in 2012 from a retiring woodworker who had used it in his home workshop since 1970. He had purchased it from a commercial shop owned by the uncle of the man he apprenticed with. By looking at all of the Crescent catalogs, I was able to narrow down the year of manufacture. Based on the shape of the frame, serial number, and the fact that it has the mounting points for foot powered treadles, I looked at the earlier years. I've determined the year to be later than 1906, based on my 20" distance between saw and frame, and earlier than 1910 based on it having a wood table and round guide bar. In 1910 they started using hexagon guide bars and iron tables.
