I purchased this machine as a rusty dust collector in a barn, for $300.00, and was given a 4" jointer with it. The motor was fine but the saw needed new tires and bearings. The table trunion had been repaired with a braze and had to be filed to fit with "prussion blue". My first attempt at putting on the tires with the rubber cement supplied by the tire provider was unsuccessfull and I redid them with "Shoe Goo" and it has held so far. I spent $80.00 to have a lower bearing mount fabricated to replace the stack of wood that they were mounted on before. I didn't use the factory dust collecter opening but chose to collect the dust at the lower blade guide cover area. I would like to redo the worn metal blade guides in Lignum Vitae. I mounted the motor on a pivoting plywood motor mount deck, and it's own weight provides belt tension.
