My grandfather purchased it in the 1950's, and I heard it made the cross country trip to his shop in South San Francisco. By the 1970's it had been moved to his garage in Danville, Calif. I remember it from my early childhood there. Grandpa died in 2002, and the machine went with others (a mill and band saw) to my uncle's home in Merced. I finally learned how to work that machine starting in 2011. He passed away in 2020, leaving the machines to me, and as of April 2021 I am making arrangements to move it to my home. My uncle learned to work the lathe starting at age 8, so there is family sentimental value to the machine going back to the 1950's.
Note: this is not the normal condition it is stored or operated in, with air hoses and extension cords dangling off it. There is an effort to clean and organize, but this is mid-transition after my uncle passed away.
