I purchased this bandsaw a few years ago from a gentleman that builds guitar bodies and amplifiers as his hobby in retirement. He graduated to a bandsaw with larger resaw capacity, so this sat idle for many years until I was lucky to find this within 30 minutes of it being listed on CL only 15 miles from home (which never happens!). I am the 3rd owner.
The saw still has the warranty, dealer and inspection stickers on the cabinet, an excellent original paint job both inside and out, and newer tires. I doubt the 3/4HP 1PH Dayton motor is original, but it came as found by the PO when he purchased it in the early 90's. I have a brand new 1HP Baldor motor that I may swap out with the Dayton. It no longer stands up to the "nickel test" and the tires are tired, so needless to say it is due for a tune up. I have cut both wood and metal with this saw, but it sees only wood or plastic since I last gave it a thorough cleaning about 3 years ago. My tune-up will include: new tires (crowned), new belts, new blade tension spring (it's a little sloppy), drain the oil, clean and inspect the gearbox, refill with new synthetic gear oil, clean the motor, inspect and repack (or replace) the motor and wheel bearings. I couldn't be happier with this bandsaw and can't wait to get this tuned up.
