This machine was purchased in Newport, PA in April, 2021 The previous owner was George Orthey, he was an autoharp and dulcimer maker of some renown. He owned the machine for 47 years before he passed away in the fall of 2020. The machine is in fantastic shape for it’s 100 years of life. I don’t believe it was ever painted and as far as I can tell it has all of its original fastenings. George’s son told me that his father bought it at auction in New Bloomfield PA, circa 1974.
