These photos were provided to us by owner James Majka. This drill was patented in December 1900 (patent 663,055) and was introduced in early 1901 by Patterson Tool & Supply Co. By 1903 Patterson's manufacturing operations were using the name Miami Valley Machine Tool Co. so presumably the labeling of the drill changed around that time, which gives us a 1901-1903 estimate for date of manufacture.

The photos show the patent variable speed mechanism. The discs were described at the time as made of compressed paper sandwiched between sheet steel. The drill is claimed to be able to drill holes to a maximum diameter of 1/2 inch.
