I do not know the history of this machine, but I aquired it from a old amish fellow on January 12, 2006. It was sitting in a field covered up for god knows how long. When I first looked at it and the 1940's Wisconsin Air Cooled engine that was powering it I immediatly knew I had to have it, so we settled on $100. I figured well if the planer was in to bad of shape to use then the engine it self had to be worth at least $100 dollars. After taking apart the carburator 3 times and changing the fuel filter, spark plug, and spark plug wire I finally got that old engine running and the planer to my surprise with a lot of rust removal worked great. They just don't make machines like they use to man I could of pissed in that gas tank on that engine and it would of still started up. To me that old engine just goes so well with old planer. It takes up some space but I wouldn't want it any other way.
