I bought this jointer as a "restored" machine. The previous owner didn't do a very good job. Some small parts were missing, others were wrong or installed in the wrong location/order. The threads on the fence lock were damaged, the small pulley was bent and he had an undersized link belt installed backwards. He had done a poor quality blue paint job on it, but didn't paint internal/underside surfaces. I blew it completely apart, stripped all paint, masked machined surfaces and bead blasted everything. Purchased new parts for those missing (roll pins, fiber washers) or wrong (cone point set screws, etc.) The table handwheels were either hard to turn or didn't lock when the lock knob/screw was tightened due to damaged bronze lock pins. I made new ones out of 544 phosphor bronze. I replaced the original cutter head with a Shelix head. New bearings were installed on the motor.
