Purchased in 2016 for $500 north of Colburn Ontario near Brickley Ontario. Was told that the Jointer was from a local saw mill. original motor worked by kept tripping the breaker so replaced with 1 hp Leeson. Jointer is Speckle Gray with red label so later 1950's to early 1960's. it need cleaning and adjust and worked very well. In January 2021 I replaced the original bearings and took the jointer apart and cleaned it up tables and greased them. Tables now move much easier and it works like new. Also fixed the fence that would move inwards and not parallel to the table when tightened. In the end found that the lock nut was stripped. This was a $2.00 part that was locally in stock. Once it was screwed on the fence now works as new and is square with the tables. The bearings were also easy to source using the original part number. The General Maintenance and Operation manual has a part list that show parts that are easily and still available. It is awesome that you can still easily source parts for a machine made 60 plus years ago. This is brilliant design and engineering.
