I purchased this from a woodworker in Buffalo that had purchased with intentions to rehab it. He decided to go another path. We had it shipped using Blue Line Freight by Fastenal. Very cheap to ship! I tore it down completely. This is a complete machine with no damage, no missing parts. Some light rust, but now fully banished. I replaced certain screws with stainless steel or new steel ones. Chased all the threads. Polished and lacquered the brass names plate. Used boat hull polish on drive handle(red) to bring back its looks. The machine came with a fairly new 3 HP 1Ph GE motor. I intend to mount new magnetic switch on stalk (much like newer machines have) on right side where it was originally. It is awaiting a new SHELIX head. This is my second BC 1000. I have another fully rehabbed as well, listed here: http://www.vintagemachinery.org/photoindex/detail.aspx?id=40119. I will have this machine's original head re-machined to allow for the knife jacking screws as I did on my other BC. This mod makes knife setting a breeze. I will keep the original head with this machine to keep it "original". I have new replacement decals coming. I recreated the original logo in exact detail from a high resolution photograph in Photoshop and Illustrator. Both machines had the plain green circular logo. Sign-Pro in CT. has the master. I order them when needed. I do believe this is my last rehab of a BC though. Great machines, they just run and run.

Casting before sandblasting. Weighs in at about 130 lbs. all by itself. This picture is taken just 6 hours after being shipped to me. Having done this before made the job go so much faster.
