23" J.E. Snyder stationary head drill with tapping attachment. Probably made some time after 1900 as the base casting is the longer version that accomidates an electric motor. Identical to the machine shown in the 1921 Snyder catalog.
The only markings I've found so far are along the edge of the base. One side says "J E Snyder and Son" and the other says "Worcester, Mass". Also, the number "23" is cast into the column (denoting the machine's size).
Electric motor mount, yellow capstan feed wheel, and table are not original.
I'm looking for some parts for it (power feed stuff), if anyone has one sitting around. If you have a whole drill I'd buy the whole thing if it was the same and had the parts I needed. I'd also be interested in making patterns from a complete machine, if it wasn't for sale.
You can email me at wade8a@meer.net.
Thanks,
Andy
