Comments:
Purchased from a 3rd generation owned machine shop in Wilmington DE. Whitcomb Mfg.Co. existed by that name 1871-1905. Alonzo Whitcomb had several patents for planer improvements including his "Second Belt Drive" 1898, replacing the first set of gears in the drive system with a belt in an effort to eliminate the tool marks made by inexact power transmission through gear teeth. Since this machine has none of his patterned features, I'm calling it a 1897, could be a little older. I could find no serial No. ....Dave Richards
