I had been looking for a usable shaper and then this one popped up on marketplace. I committed to buying it before more than perusing the photos. 1942 build date puts it as either a 1340 or a 43-205 depending if you think it was bought out of the 1942 catalogue or built in 1942 but purchased out of the 1943 catalogue, both describe the same identical machine with the difference being only the model number; even the artwork is identical from 1941-1943.
The cast depth gauge & ring around the handwheel are both broken (thin castings and maybe aggressive disassembly). The raising mechanism was mostly frozen shut but only due to the lighterish surface rust on the "heavy, ground tube which carries large, main bearing housing". No dust doors or switch cover plate. No accessories. Otherwise, pretty solid.

Sellers marketplace photograph. This was stored in an airplane hanger up until I purchased it.

16-8183 turns out to be a 1942 date. Wonderful condition old-style tag.

This should be an 65-080 1hp RI motor. Well, I know it is 1hp RI, I just haven't looked enough for a specific model tag.
