A member suggested "WWI era" also possibly Waco Tool works / Up to Date machine Works because of the unusual mechanism / . Both Cos seem to be the same. After an extensive search I have not found a specific Patent but have found a patent for the major mechanical works: It is a "floating" C-frame. The C-frame moves up and down from a eccentric wheel and connecting rod. The C-frame rides in 3 brass guides. (see patent #1)
Because of the first reference to Waco TW and an Ad posted here I thought that the Red paint on the machine was a link to Waco but I'm not certain it is! The red paint was applied to a coat of white paint and under that is a black paint which leads me to believe the base color was black.
I have included pictures of the SS as found. (At first glance of the Ad on a web site I thought it was a lathe attachment. when I arrived to pick it up it was so much bigger! The original owner was a machinist if that's of any help?
