Very little is know about the history of the jointer. I purchased it in Suffolk, VA on 11/20/2020 for $180 from a guy on OfferUp. He said it was used by his grandfather and that was about all he knew. Original motor was long gone, same with the original hold down bar and switching. He had let it sit outside for a few months, so the rust on the tables was getting pretty bad. Surprisingly, everything turned freely except the outfeed side handle, but it just needed a little WD40. There is some minor pitting on the infeed side. Cutterhead rides smoothly within ball bearings.

While the cutterhead is clamshell style, there is a "safety feature" for eccentrics with nubs that ride in notches on the blades. The eccentrics are long gone, but those can be machined.

Information I was able to find on VM says it originally came with a 3hp, direct drive motor, weight is 1100lbs and its "code word" is Pearam (perhaps something used by the manufacturer during the development stage?)
