I don't see any serial numbers on the lathe, if you know where i should look please let me know. I was told when I bought this lathe that one of the owners made tapered dowels out of redwood and large mallets for US battle ships to plug holes during war. I have not been able to find any history to support this claim.
The last owner did make pillars for Elizabeth Taylors house in southern California.
