This was a local Craigslist find, from an abandoned small cabinet shop. Without three-phase power, they had apparently never used it since acquiring it from a larger shop some number of years previously. No other model 31-382 edge sander has been found in the archives here or on owwm.org, though one person on owwm.org acquired a precursor of this sander made by Acme, a model Acme 4cxl. This machine uses a Delta backstand idler for the idler pulley, just as all of the earlier Acme model 2C, 4C and others did.

My machine is a three phase, 2hp motor, originally configured for 460v. I have removed the starter and rewired the motor for 230v, and plan to install a VFD instead to obtain variable speed control.
