I do not own this machine. It too was auctioned off in Southern California, like this one: http://www.vintagemachinery.org/photoindex/detail.aspx?id=39491
But because the model designation changed (The R was dropped) I am posting it here. The fact that it retains both the round base as well as the pre-1954 company name on the tag makes it useful in trying to sort out the specifics of when these machines were manufactured, when certain changes occurred, how serial numbers were assigned, etc. The close up shots of both the Apex script and the tag inspired me to log this machine here.
