Machine was in sad shape when I got it. The southern California auto junkyard owner who'd had it a few years kept in inside until around mid-2018, when he then put it outside in the elements. Then we had a rare very wet rainy season of 2018-19 -- about 20 inches (to those of you outside of Calif, that's a lot of rain for us). After the rains, it sat in the hot summer sun until September which is when I got it. As a result of its bad appearance, in addition to the owner thinking it was a lathe, I got it for close to scrap value -- 300 bucks. Restoration consisted of partial disassembly, cleaning, derusting, more cleaning, and painting. No broken or worn out parts were found on it; it was just ugly. Everything now works as it should and it runs nice. All 4 motors run quiet and smooth, no bearing noises, no gear crunching, table side-to-side motion is smooth. A bonus found underneath the layers of old paint: a brass inventory tag of a previous (likely the original) owner -- Ford Motor Company.
